eit DIRECTORS

Verónica Galván, Ed. D.

Dr. Galván is EiT Director of Elementary Certification and will be teaching coursework full-time. Dr. Galván earned her Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston. She studied two areas of interest: Early Childhood and Teacher Education/Preparation. She also holds two Master Degrees:  Early Childhood and Bilingual/ESL through the University of Texas system. She was a Texas public and private school teacher for many years and holds numerous Texas certifications. She has also taught at the university level. Dr. Galván has published research in prestigious scholarly journals, such as The Reading Teacher, addressing English-language learners, mathematical language, cooperative learning, dual language, bilingual children’s literacy development and service learning. She has also presented her various research findings at many state, national, and international organizational meetings such as AERA, ASCD, IRA, NCTM, and NCSM. Dr. Galván has served as contributing author for Pearson Scott Foresman-Addison Wesley mathematics textbooks in English and Spanish. She is the author of the Early Childhood Mathematics Profile©(ECMP©), a mathematics observational checklist for teachers. Her passion is early childhood and elementary children and teachers.


Mr. Luis Eduardo González

Mr. Gonzalez is the Director for Excellence in Teaching (EiT). Mr. Gonzalez has served as Director for the last 13 years . Under his leadership, EiT has provided effective, successful Educator Preparation Program (EPP) for individuals seeking to become a certified teacher in the state of Texas.  Including assisting with passing exams such as the THEA and educators seeking to pass the many different TExES certification exams. Mr. Gonzalez also collaborates with school district administrators, ESL/Bilingual Directors and curriculum leaders to plan and organize research-based professional development sessions for educators throughout Texas. His background in business combined with his passion for the education profession serve as the pillars to his commitment to provide teacher candidates selected into the EIT Program with exceptional, quality customer service.
