What is pact?

Pre-Admission content test (PACT)

Prior to being admitted into an EPP you are attempting a content test.

These tests may be used by educator preparation programs (EPPs) for program admission purposes.  PACT tests does not count towards the required certification exams for obtaining certification.

There are different PACT exam for each subject area and the test content is different than the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) certification exams. There are 35 different PACT exams, including an Essential Academic Skills exam.

Excellence in Teaching (EiT) does not require PACT for admission.

If you meet the admission requirements EiT does not require PACT.  If an applicant does not meet the minimum GPA requirement (overall or last 60 hours), state code requires that you PACT as a part of the admission requirements.
